VOLUNTEERSStand at Yorktown with Us
THE SIEGE IS WON — BUT THE STORY MUST LIVE
On October 19, 1781, the world's timeline shifted. At Yorktown, a siege that changed everything ended not with a bang, but with a sword changing hands, a nation's future secured, and a global order forever altered. But here's the truth: Yorktown wasn't just won on the battlefield — it was won by supply lines, French fleets, militia tenacity, and sheer willpower.
Today, most Americans can't name three facts about Yorktown. They know Cornwallis surrendered. They know Washington was there. But they don't know why it mattered—or how close we came to losing everything.
That's where you come in.
WHY YOUR VOICE MATTERS
As a K4Y Volunteer Net Control Operator, you become part of something rare: a living bridge between past and present. Every contact you make, every QSO you log, every operator you guide through the bands is a small act of historical preservation—a refusal to let Yorktown fade into obscurity.
🎙️ What You'll Do:
- Operate K4Y on air during the October 18-20, 2025 special event
- Share Yorktown's story with hams around the world
- Log contacts that become part of the permanent historical record
- Help fellow operators chase the Chasing Cornwallis Challenge certificate
- Be part of a team committed to keeping these stories alive
You don't need to be an expert. You just need to care.

“Yorktown didn't just win independence for America. It proved to the world that self-governance was possible. That legacy lives on—if we keep telling the story.”
